About 1977 Foundation

A new organization with a simple purpose.

Build stronger footing through nutrition, community, purpose, education and self-reliance.

Our mission

To promote nutrition education, improve access to nutritious whole foods, support community-based programs, and provide education and resources that empower individuals and families to make informed choices regarding food, nutrition, health, and self-reliance.

Our approach

  • Help people where they are today.
  • Keep nutrition practical and respectful.
  • Strengthen community rather than prescribe from a distance.
  • Test ideas before trying to scale them.
  • Measure success by usefulness, not complexity.

Founding story

1977 Foundation began after a period of stepping away from a long corporate career and spending meaningful time with family. That pause created room to think about what kind of work would be worth building next — and how practical support around food, health, community, and self-reliance could help people move forward.
